Harmful Foods For Your Dog
After reading an article about dog obesity problems in the UK it reminded me that dog obesity problems are due to more than just a lack of exercise - there is a nutritional component tied into it as well.
More and more human diet is finding its way into our dogs, and I'm not talking about the occasional piece of raw carrot or some gristle from a steak - I'm talking about a wide range of items, including processed foods and sweets.
Nutritional experts have discouraged the feeding of table scraps for many years because of the great potential for dogs to become obese but, the more human food we expose our dogs to, the greater the chance we're going to include something that is harmful to them.
Many dog owners either don't know, or forget, just how many human foods dogs cannot tolerate. While healthy and well-balanced diets can be prepared for dogs using human food it is absolutely vital that you know which foods are healthy for your dog - and which are unhealthy and even toxic.
